Vertex Real Estate Fund I and Gerbera Capital formalized an investment program for residential, mixed and commercial offices in Guadalajara, Jalisco.

The projects will be developed by Gerbera Capital whose real estate team has deep experience in the market and with offices in Guadalajara. Gerbera Capital is a Mexican private equity firm that currently manages three real estate funds, a venture capital fund and a platform of global portfolios.

Vertex  Real Estate investors focuses on managing real estate funds investing in residential, commercial, industrial, and leisure properties in Mexico. The firm currently manages a multi-sector real estate CKD issued in Mexico (April 15, 2013).


EMX Capital raises U.S. $192.3 million for Buyouts and Growth Capital in Mexico.

EMX Capital announced the closing of EMX Capital Partners LP with total capital commitments of U.S.$68.2 million from local and international investors. EMX Capital Partners LP will invest alongside EMX's Mexican side-by-side vehicle, which has funding of Ps.1,544 million pesos from Mexican pension funds (approximately U.S.$124.1 million). Therefore, the combined vehicles ("EMX Capital Partners I") have obtained U.S. $192.3 million of capital.

EMX Capital Partners I will invest in buyout and growth equity opportunities across industry sectors. It seeks to invest in mid-size Mexican companies through equity or equity-linked securities. EMX Capital Partners I targets control investments in companies requiring equity capital of U.S.$15 million to U.S.$65 million per transaction and plans to invest over a five-year period. EMX Capital Partners I has made two investments to-date. First, it invested in ILSP, a leading security and logistics service provider, and then in AG Convertidora, a producer of quality flexible packaging.

Adobe Capital launches first impact investing fund focusing on supporting the growth of social and environmental enterprises in Mexico.

 Adobe announced that during the last quarter of 2012, the venture capital firm launched its first impact investing fund in Mexico, Adobe Social Mezzanine Fund I, LP, with US$15 million in commitments made by nine institutional investors. The new fund seeks to create social and environmental impact while generating attractive financial returns for its investors.

Adobe Capital will invest ticket of US$100,000 to US$3 million into 10 to 15 Mexican companies and will employ Mezzanine like structures that combine debt and equity in order to maximize the probability of success for sponsored companies  (April, 2013).


Adobe Capital announced an investment in FINAE, a Mexican business leader in the loans sector for students of low and mid-income. With the investment, FINAE will be able to increase the size of its loan portfolio and will get prepared to issue debt in the Mexican market, the first in the educational sector  (January, 2013).


Startup Mexico invests in Venture Partners. On March 21, 2013, Startup Mexico formalized their first investment committing capital to Venture Partners' Seed Innovation Trust I. The investment is a milestone in developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Mexico, a project backed by NAFIN and the Mexican Ministry of the Economy. Venture Partners is one of the most active seed and venture capital firms in Mexico. The first fund was launched in June 2012 and invests in innovative early stage businesses with high potential for growth. (March 21, 2013).
